raster data importing and viewing

hi,
i have uploaded some raster datasets(in WinDisp IDA format) into the Workstation but they do not appear on the available data layers in the resource explorer. is there a quick guide to this process?

also, is it mandatory to have an accompanying metadata file for all raster layers imported?

we are currrently working on the layer importer: it is not included in the RC2 and will not be available in the RC3, which will be released tomorrow 16 July. We are planning to include it for the September 16 release. Consequently layers (both Raster and Vector) can not be uploaded in the Workstation at the moment. This is the reason that they are not visible in the Resource Explorer.

Metadata: yes, you need to add metadata for each of the resources (raster layers included). The Metadata is the base used to search resources through the Resource Explorer and therefore it is essential.
