Signing in as a user

  • Uploading datasets in the Workstation requires you to be signed in as a User. If you are not a registered user you will need to ask you Administrator to set up a user account for you (See User Management).

Formatting datasets and metadata files for upload

  • Currently datasets must be uploaded as .csv files accompanied by a metadata .xml file. You will first of all need to ensure that the dataset and the associated Metadata file have been prepared in advance according to the required formats (see Formatting datasets for upload and Running the Metadata Editor).

Uploading a dataset

  • Select Tools>Dataset Uploader from the main menu or click on the "Upload dataset" icon in the toolbox to open the Dataset Uploader. Click "Browse" and select the .csv dataset file to be uploaded from your folders. Click "Open".
  • Next, click "Browse" again and select the .xml metadata file which refers to the dataset you have just uploaded. Click "Open".
  • When you have selected both the dataset and metadata files, click "Upload" to upload the dataset.

Viewing a dataset

  • To retrieve and view your dataset in the Workstation, open the Resource Explorer and select "Search for: Datasets".
