From Fenix
Contents |
Purpose
FS-ATMIS provides interactive and dynamic decision support and response monitoring tools that facilitates data storage, updating and retrieval of information on activities and initiatives of Governments and Development Partners, which could strongly contribute to the prioritization and harmonization of development and emergency actions. It helps analyzing projects, budget, Government priorities and areas of intervention. The FS-ATMIS aim is to identify gaps or redundancies in the development strategies and to track ongoing and pipeline food security-related FAO and non-FAO activities.
How to use the FSATMIS tool
FSATMIS is a powerful tool through which it is possible to aggregate the information stored in datasets in order to facilitate the analysis.
Starting the application As soon as the FSATMIS tool is launched, the following screenshot appears:
The application is organized in different tab: Table Analysis, Chart, Map, Raw Data, Dataset Importer.
Table Analysis
Once a dataset is selected from the dropdown list the user should select:
- Aggregation function:
Frequency: it displays the number of projects
Sum, Average, Minimum, Maximum: these operations are applied on the budget of projects
- Columns (and optionally subcolumns)
- Rows (and optionally subrows)
- Dimension to plot (optional)
It is possible to plot only numerical values
- Settings (optional)
It is possible to show totals in the multidimensional table and to choose between two different types of charts (line and bar)
Once the dimensions of the analysis have been selected, please click on the Create Multidimensional table button
Chart
By clicking on the Map tab on the top of the page it is possible to display the data in form of a chart. Please note that if the (optional) sub-columns or sub-rows are selected, the application will get one chart for each column or row dimension.
Map
By clicking on the Map tab on the top of the page it is possible to display the data in form of a map. In order to create a map the user should select the geographical dimension of interest and then define a Map filter for each dimension used in the analysis.
Raw Data
By clicking on the Raw Data tab on the top of the page is possible to see directly the dataset in use. On the bottom-left of the page it is possible to add and remove filters to the dataset view in order to focus the attention on particular dimensions of the data.
Dataset Importer
Before to upload new datasets the user must login by entering username and password. In order to upload a new dataset the user must upload two different documents:
- A .csv file containing the data
- An .xml file containing the metadata associated to the dataset. It is possible to create the metadata file directly on the Work Station using the Metadata Editor (see Running the Metadata Editor for more information).
